The Dustiest Place on Earth
What happened at the Ridge.
On 6-5-2011 round 6 of the NCHSA series was held in Sanford, NC at the Devil’s Ridge Motocross Facility. The heat index was at 108 degrees, the ground extremely dry and the dust was almost unbearable, but the race must go on. The terrain is mostly flat with a silt type soil, tons of turns and not really many natural obstacles other than the silt berms on every corner and extreme dust. The track also consists of the Motocross track, which allows some type of breather from the lingering dust cloud.

The 250-A class had seven riders going at it for six laps during the two hour morning Pro/A race. Lap one saw Caleb Garrow take control of the race, leading Tj Anthony by nine seconds. Kevin Myers came through in third place, twenty four seconds ahead of fourth place rider Scott Davis. Jonathan Williams rounded out the top five. Completion of lap two had Caleb Garrow on the gas hard, pulling away, and increasing the lead to forty six seconds
